Wiesner Worldwide Kreations (WWK), the Indian arm of Wiesner Products of New York, has recently signed a marketing agreement with Collective Licensing International (CLI), the company that owns and manages Airwalk, to bring the sports and youth lifestyle brand in the country. Under the agreement, WWK will hold the license for Airwalk across youth categories in India, including kid’s footwear, apparel and general merchandise.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhavna Jha, Vice President, WWK, said: “Airwalk is a significant player in the international market and our plan is to fill the current gap in the youth category.”

Commenting on the tie-up, Bruce Pettet, President and CEO, CLI, said that Wiesner’s talented design and development teams and their extensive experience in the industry make them the ideal partner for the Airwalk brand in India.

WWK plans to build a strong Airwalk presence across the North, South and East zones of India through distributors and retailers. The company has targeted distribution to more than 35 national and regional format stores across various product categories. The Airwalk collection in India will debut in Autumn Winter 2012.

Established in 1986, Airwalk is a sports and youth lifestyle brand with 50 brand partners in more than 100 countries around the world.

Founded in 1971, WWK manufactures and markets footwear, hosiery, accessories, sleepwear, apparel and home goods for children and adults. Colorado-based CLI was formed in January 2004 and is the owner and/or license operator of Airwalk, Above the Rim, Vision Street Wear, Clinch Gear, Strikeforce, Sims, Lamar and LTD, World Snowboarding Championships and Hind.
