    Indoor ice skating rink, Ice Age to open in Moments Mall, Delhi


    Ice Age, an indoor ice skating rink, will open in Moments Mall, Delhi on January 21, 2012. This is the second indoor ice skating rink in Delhi- NCR. The first was launched in , Gurgaon. Ice Age will have a total built up area of approx 3,000 sq.ft. out of which, about 1,500 sq.ft. is dedicated for skating and rest for Cafe Lounge. The rink is located on the second floor of the mall and will comprise snow throwers, motion games, DJ, clubbing, and cafe.

    According to , co-owner, Ice Age: “The Ice Age has been created using materials imported from Germany that behaves and looks like ice but easy to maintain. Interiors and exteriors of the place have been specially created to resemble a snow covered town. Expert trainers, lightening, and sound set up on the floor has been provided for the convenience of the visitors.”

    The rink is made from imported customized ice skating panels. It has 90 percent resemblance to real ice, but its about 62 times less expensive, having all the ice properties such as gliding and sliding effect. The ice panels used in Ice Age are ecological, non-toxic and recyclable product (certified by Spanish National Research Council). Ice reels used in the rink are similar to the ones used in Disneyland and NHL team training centers in Florida.

    Talking about the selection of the mall for Ice Age, Mittal said: “Moments Mall was selected by a professional team after a detailed research. The mall is present in the central zone of Delhi and hence has a good geographic location. All the good brands are available, and more are coming up within three to four months. This will provide a better footfall to Ice Age. The target audience of the rink will vary from 3 to 45 years and above. The cafe will offer a good selection of food and drinks.”

    Ice Age will remain open from 11:30 am to 10:30 pm. The ticket will cost Rs 150 on weekdays and Rs 200 on weekends.
