Shoppers Stop to offer Fashion Retail Management course with Pearl Academy of Fashion

Shoppers Stop has tied-up with the Pearl Academy of Fashion to offer a course in Fashion Retail Management. Having a duration of 18 months, the course will be designed by IIM-Ahmedabad. The course will be based on an earn-and-learn model and promises a 100 percent placement guarantee in premium department stores of the country after completion.

After pursuing the course, students will get an opportunity to handle the front-end jobs in Shoppers Stop as Fashion Assistant, graduating to take over any managerial position in the department store chain or in the retail sector. On-the-job training will also be provided during the course which will help students to even work in verticals such as hospitality management, infrastructure management, facility management, and marketing and sales.

Commenting on the tie-up, AKG Nair, Group Director, Pearl Academy of Fashion, said: “Indian retail industry is on the verge of a revolution; hence, the requirement for more skilled manpower is on the rise. We, at PAF, feel proud to take the lead by providing the industry with qualified retail manpower and hope that our expertise would convert aspirants into professionals who can direct and accelerate this growth further and take retailing to the next level of evolution.”

Graduates (any stream) or undergraduates can take admission in the course. However, the minimum qualification required for admission will be 50 percent marks in class 12 and applicants should not be over 25 years of age.

Shoppers Stop has 46 stores in 22 cities, occupying an aggregate area of over 2.05 mn sq.ft. of retail space.
