99labels.com, an online portal offering fashion and lifestyle brands, recently celebrated its second anniversary with sales, giveaways and contests. The e-commerce portal became operational on December 9, 2009 and has sold more than 800 international and Indian brands since its inception.
Talking about the two year journey, Ishita Swarup, 99labels Co-founder and CEO, said: “We started the concept of private online sales and it’s great to see how far the idea has come. Today we have bigger labels, more international partnerships, and smoother infrastructure to handle the growing volumes. The portal today features hundreds of fashion and lifestyle brands such as Diesel, Pierre Cardin, Calvin Klein, Gucci, Versace, Ritu Kumar, Tarun Tahiliani, Terra, Bansri and Joaillerie. Its membership numbers currently stands over 10 lakhs, with a 100 percent month-on-month growth. 99labels also reached out to its members and potential customers through Facebook, allowing them to access their favorite brands through it.
The number of sales per day has gone up to 7-9 as compared to 3-4 at the earlier stages, and the orders have shot up to 2,000 per day compared to 300-400 in the initial year.
99labels has also introduced a loyalty club called ‘Club99’ offering privileges like free shipping, 0 percent EMI schemes for HDFC and Citibank credit card holders on purchases of Rs 3,000 and more along with a preview of the merchandise every day- an hour before it goes live for the rest of the members. 99labels aldo has overseas presence in Paris and New York.
