UK footwear brand Clarks debuts in South India

Clarks, a UK-based footwear brand, has opened its first store in South India at Chennai. Spread over 2,200 sq.ft., the outlet showcases footwear collection for men, women, and children.

Speaking on the occasion, Gautam Raheja, Marketing Head, Clarks Future Footwear, said: “I’m extremely glad to launch our first store in South India, with Chennai being the starting point. I am sure that the brand, like it has done elsewhere in India and the world, will bring to the people of Chennai the kind of footwear that everyone longs for.”

Ladies footwear are priced between Rs 1,200 and 8,000, whereas men’s footwear cost from Rs 2,500 to 8,000. The prices for the kids shoes range between Rs 1,299 and 2,500.

Clarks currently has 1,000 shops in 100 countries across the world. In India, the brand is present in Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune. It entered India in April 2010 and has opened 12 stores within the first year of its operations in the country. According to company officials, Clarks will soon open one store in Hyderabad and two in Bangalore.
