Inner wear retailer, Page Industries reports 43% sales growth

Page Industries, an Indian manufacturer and retailer of inner wear and leisurewear for men and women, has recorded sales of Rs 180.60 crore for the quarter ended September 2011, and increase of 43 percent from Rs 126.41 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The net profit after tax was Rs 25.33 crore, a growth of 55 percent for the same period.

Commenting on the company’s performance, Sunder Ashok Genomal, Managing Director, Page Industries, said: “We are pleased with the company’s performance in the second quarter as our revenue and profits reflected a strong performance in a challenging market place. Page Industries’ manufacturing capabilities are stronger than ever and our workforce is expanding as is our distribution network. Our focus will continue to be on product quality and consistent performance to meet the expectations of our customers and investors.”

As on September 30, 2011, Page Industries had over 13,000 employees across eight manufacturing complexes in Bengaluru. The company is the licensee of Jockey International (USA) in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, and UAE and of Speedo International (UK) in India.
