American technology firm 3M introduces ‘Visual Attention Service’ in India

Must Read

3M, formerly known as the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company, has launched its “Visual Attention Service” online scanning tool in India that scientifically analyzes design effectiveness, based on how the average human eye responds. It will cater to brand owners, marketing professionals, and designers to help expand their brand reach.

3M VAS works on virtually any visual design – banner ads, print ads, signage, retail space, and more. The tool analyzes basic design elements such as colors, faces, shapes, contrast, and text to accurately predict the areas which will attract attention in the first 3 to 5 seconds.

VAS is based on vision science. VAS algorithms identify and analyze the key visual elements.

The results show the hotspots – and the not-so-hot spots – so retailers can easily confirm their design choices or alter the image to emphasize specific elements. 3M VAS is also available on iPhone App.

3M is an American technology company which has manufacturing facilities at Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Pune, and Pondicherry in India with more than 1,800 employees.
