Sanjay Coutinho has been appointed as the CEO of Om Pizzas and Eats, the franchisee for Papa John’s Pizza, Chili’s Grill & Bar restaurants, and The Great Kabab Factory.
Making the announcement, Faisal Jawad, Chairman, Om Pizzas and Eats said: “Coutinho’ coming on board as a CEO is a key appointment as we seek to rapidly scale up the Papa John’s Pizza and the Chili’s Grill & Bar restaurants business over the next two years during which we see the restaurant count increasing from 35 today to more than 100 restaurants across tier I and II cities in India. With his experience and knowledge of the Indian QSR business, he is expected to drive this rapid expansion plan.”
Coutinho has over 20 years of experience in the Indian food and retail sector. Prior to this, he was associated with Barista Coffee as CEO, Domino’s Pizza, and Baskin Robins.
Commenting on the appointment, Coutinho said: “These are exciting times for the business and I am delighted to be on board and be leading the team as we seek to leverage the Papa John’s Pizza’s ‘better ingredients better pizza’ and the Chilis Grill & Bar superior product offer and restaurant atmosphere advantages to scale up the business across India.”
