Landmark Group honoured at Images RetailMe Awards 2011

Landmark, Dubai-based retail and hospitality group, was honoured with “Most Admired Retail Company of the Year” and “Most Admired Middle East Retailer of the Year” awards at the Images RetailMe Awards 2011 held at Meydan Hotel, Dubai on October 12, 2011.

Landmark Group’s concepts – Iconic and Splash – also won two awards each. Iconic was declared the winner in the ”Most Admired Store Design of the Year” and ”Excellence Award for Most Admired Retailer of the Year: Department Store” categories. Splash won awards for the ”Most Admired Retailer of the Year – Fashion” and ‘Most Admired Marketing Campaign of the Year’.

THE One, a Dubai-based furniture retail company, bagged three awards. Thomas Lundgren, Founder and CEO of the company was awarded the ”Most Admired Personality of the Year”. The furniture retailer also won the ”Most Admired Responsible Retailer of the Year” award. Colin Burrows of THE One received the excellence award for ”Most Admired Store Manager of the Year”.

Among other winners were Danube Buildmart, Virgin Megastore – MENA, Rivoli, Sharaf DG, Adventure HQ, Life Healthcare Group, KM Retail, Signature Fashion, Kidzania, Coldstone Creamery, Club Apparel and Just Kidding.

The guests of honour at the occasion were H E Mohamed Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz, Undersecretary, UAE Ministry of Economy; and Mohammad Abdullah, Managing Director – Media Cluster, Dubai Media City.

The eminent jury for the awards consisted of Mohammad Alawi, CEO, Red Sea Markets, Saudi Arabia; Peter Walichnowski, CEO, UAE-based Majid Al Futtaim Properties; Alexander John Andarakis, Founder and Managing Director, UAE-based Andarakis Advisory Services; Roy Higgs, CEO and Partner-in-Charge, US-based Development Design Group; David Macadam, Head of Retail, Jones Lang LaSalle MENA; Frederick John Douglas, Director – Leasing of Abu Dhabi-based Aldar Properties; Davide G Padoa, CEO, London-based Design International (DI); and Hussein Doughan, Regional Manager, Euromonitor International, MENA and Turkey.
