Global Franchise Architects (GFA), builder, operator and franchiser of specialty food brands, has announced the launch of its third brand in Chennai. The first-of-its-kind concept in Chennai – Cream and Fudge – is an international smooth and creamy ice-cream brand and has being launched under Master Franchisee Agreement with Chennai Deserts.

The 750 sq. ft. outlet offers an upscale and world class dining experience with a luxurious atmosphere which is targeted at the youth and trendy crowd of Chennai. The store is located at Khadar Nawaz Khan Road, Next to Café Coffee Day Lounge.

Speaking at the launch, Joseph Cherian, CEO, GFA Global, said, “Cream and Fudge offers the world’s creamiest ice creams and allows customers to participate in the selection and creation process of the ice cream. We want our customers to have this unique experience whether they are choosing from the wide selection of ice creams in the menu or creating their own ice creams.”

Talking about the expansion plans, Cherian added, “The launch of Cream and Fudge in Chennai is part of our continued strategy to make India the largest market for GFA Global by 2011. At present there are 12 stores of Cream and Fudge Factory across India in Bangalore, Kolkata and Hyderabad. We believe Chennai has the potential to grow very fast due to the growing cosmopolitan nature of its residents. Through our Franchisee Agreement with Chennai Desserts we are looking at increasing the foothold in Chennai and plan to increase the number of stores in the city to around 3 by the end of FY11.”

The brand offers an innovative mix-in concept of hand folding ice creams on a frozen marble stone with a choice of sumptuous mix-ins like candied fruits, crunchy cookies, pie fillings, nuts, fudge, brownies and more.

There are currently 4 GFA brands in India – Pizza Corner, Coffee World, The Donut Baker and Cream and Fudge – with 80 store locations.
