Apparel retailer Chhabra 555 expands to Jammu

Ethnic apparel retailer Chhabra 555 has opened its first store in Jammu. The store at Bakshinagar offers a wide range of Indian ethnic wear for women including sarees, suits and lehangas, among others.

Speaking on the occasion, Jagdeep Chhabra, MD, Chhabra 555, said, “We entered that belt with our store in Srinagar, where we got a brilliant response from the people. With the love and support that we get from the people there, we are very happy that we will be able to serve our customers in a bigger way.”

On the company’s expansion plans, he said, “We have followed a very aggressive expansion plan across India and are focusing on the same in the future. Our aim is to attain 10 per cent market share in all key markets by 2015 by leveraging our established supplier base, strong distribution network and effective accounting mechanisms to spur this growth.”

Started as a small saree shop 50 years ago, Chhabra 555 Fashion Pvt Ltd has successfully made a mark in the retail industry. It currently has 50-odd boutiques in the country. Apart from Delhi-NCR, the company has expanded successfully in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Uttarakhand and Kashmir over the past one year.
