UK-based food retailer Waitrose, managed by Dubai-based Fine Fare Food Market LLC, has announced the opening of its new store in Bahrain. Located at The Lagoon, Amwaj Islands, this is the retailer’s third store outside the UK. The other two are located in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Fine Fare Food Market LLC (FFFM) manages the store in Bahrain through its local operating company Supa Save Bahrain WLL.

Patrick Lawrence, property manager of FFFM, said, “The Lagoon is undoubtedly one of the most exciting and innovative retail developments in the region and we are delighted to be represented there. The store has been designed to embrace the ambience of Waitrose, while catering to the specific needs of the local communities.”

The store will offer an assortment of Waitrose branded products as well as locally-sourced products to meet the needs of the Bahrain customer demographic. Considering local tastes and traditions, the store will only sell certified halal food in the main store arena.
