Archies enters into a license agreement with Hallmark

Archies Ltd, greeting cards and gift product retailer in India, has recently announced that they have entered into a license agreement with Hallmark Cards, Inc to luanch exclusive Hallmark retail outlets across the country. The company plans to create a similar chain of Hallmark stores (as in the United States) pan India.

Anil Moolchandani, chairman, Archies Ltd said, “This event marks a milestone in a relationship that goes back decades to when we launched Archies. To represent Hallmark in India is an honour and I’m delighted to be associated with the company and its owners.” Hallmark outlets will merchandise
exclusive Hallmark products, including cards, stationery and gifts, including the powerful and synergetic brands like Crayola art products, the William Arthur range of luxury stationery, and merchandise of world famous characters like Snoopy & Garfield among others.

Archies will operate a parallel retail programme of Archies Gallery stores and Hallmark stores in the country with Hallmark stores focusing in tier I cities and Archies focusing on expanding presence in tier II and III cities.

The company plans to open 20 such stores in Delhi/NCR and Mumbai, in the first phase within 12 months and is expected to expand to 100 in three to five year period.
