Strengthening presence in India: Fitness First

Must Read

UK-based Fitness First plans to open up to 50 health clubs in the next five years. “We would like to have around 30 to 50 clubs across the country in five years’ time. In the last couple of years, we have focussed on building a strong foundation. We are now looking for business partners in India and are open to any kind of business model, including taking the franchisee route, to expand our presence here, as the Asia-Pacific is a potential market for us,” says David Giampaolo, Board Member, Fitness First. The company, which plans to list itself on the Singapore Stock Exchange this year, currently operates four health clubs in India and is slated to open another one in the capital in 2011.
