Inter Parfums SA’s fragrance license with Burberry Group have been extended by a year and Burberry’s right to buy the license has also been moved to 2012.
“Burberry and Inter Parfums currently have a range of projects in various stages of development. The amendment provides the flexibility to execute current priorities while exploring ways to work together in the future. This includes structuring expansion of the recently launched Burberry Beauty business beyond the test phase”, ” stated Philippe Benacin, President and Chief Executive Officer, Inter Parfums SA, the Paris-based subsidiary of Inter Parfums Inc.
In the first nine months of this year, sales of Burberry fragrances rose 18 percent versus the same period in 2009, due to continued growth from its established lines and increased retailer orders for the newer best-selling lines, such as Burberry Brit and Burberry The Beat. Also contributing to gains was recent entrant Burberry Sport, whose revenues exceeded 30 million euros.
