Spar, a licence agreement between Dubai-based Landmark Group’s Max Hypermarkets and Spar International, an international food retail chain, is set to expand aggresively. In the first phase of expansion, the brand is setting up a 50,000 sq.ft hypermarket in Delhi. The store will debut on January 19 at Pacific Mall, Rajouri Garden.

After launching in Rajouri Garden, Spar hypermarket will launch at the upcoming Metropolis mall, Gurgaon (NCR). By the end of this fiscal, Spar will also launch in Pune at Inorbit mall. The othr two hypermarkets will also occupy retail space of 50,000 sq.ft.

The company, which has five stores sized between 30,000 and 70,000 sq.ft, said it will be setting up 30 stores by 2013.
