Paul & Shark plans expansion by 2011

Italian luxury sportswear brand Paul & Shark, renowned for their designer yachting and golf wear presently have two outlets in India, one at the Emporio Mall in Delhi and the other at the Taj Krishna Hotel in Hyderabad. With the successful launch of these outlets, the company is ready to take on the market in Chennai by December 2010 and Mumbai by March 2011. After these a second outlet in Delhi is on the cards. The company feels that with a growing youth population and higher disposable incomes, India promises to be an attractive market.

The CEO and owner of Paul & Shark, Andrea Dini is excited at the growth prospects in India. He feels, that India is the most beautiful and also the most difficult market to understand and crack. That is one of the reasons why they have set up partnership with Reliance Brands for India.

Paul & Shark originated in a tiny medieval hamlet called Masnago in Varese, north of Milan in 1921. A part of the 120-year-old Dama SPA, with global revenue of Euros 500 million, the Paul & Shark brand went into its men’s line of luxury yachting wear in 1977. Today, they also have individual lines for women and children, spanning golf and other sportswear. Globally, Paul & Shark has over 250 points of sale and another 250 shop-in-shop stores.

The cotton for clothing is sourced from the finest Egypt and the luxurious wool is from Australia. The entire manufacturing is handled at the company plant in Varese.
