Supermarket chain Nilgiri’s has opened its 100th store in South India. The new outlet at Chamiers Road in Chennai promises to address the convenience needs of shoppers in the catchment.

Murali Krishnan, COO, Nilgiri’s, says, “The key differentiator in the business is the strong private label range of Nilgiri’s and excellent customer service offered by our franchisees at the stores. We are able to delight the shopper with a very large assortment of products having a good mix of traditional and imported range in foods. The franchisee model ensures speed of execution and the ability to adapt to fast changing consumer needs.”

Nilgiri’s, with a major presence in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu for many years now, extended its footprint to the markets of Andhra Pradesh and Kerala earlier this year.
