Wipro’s Yardley plans to expand in tier II cities


Wipro’s recent acquisition of Yardley is riding high on the success chart, contributing to six percent of Wipro’s quarterly revenue. “With the growing hold, we plan to increase the distribution of Yardley across India with special focus on tier II cities”, says Vineet Agarwal, President, Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting (WCCL), the FMCG arm of IT major Wipro.

The acquisition includes personal care brands of the Chinese fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) firm such as Enear, Zici and Vcnic and fabric care brands Pahnli and Sunew

Although the brand is present in pockets around the country, Kerala and Tamil Nadu are the regions with the strongest presence. Making way for more cities, Yardley will be available only through supermarkets and multi-brand beauty retailers.
