Aditya Birla Retail Limited (ABRL) has launched a hypermarket store in Hyderabad. Spread over an area of 53,000 sq.ft at Saroor Nagar, the hypermarket, under the brand name More Megastore, is the retailer’s first in the city and eighth in India. ABRL’s hypermarkets are already present in Mysore, Vadodara, Aurangabad, Indore, Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi.
The new More Megastore claims to provide an international shopping experience with 25,000 products to serve various shopping needs of a modern Indian family. The store offers a wide array of products in different categories including fresh fruits and vegetables, personal care, young fashion, luggage, steel utensils, home care, toys, consumer durables, apparels and footwear.
In addition to offering national and international brands, More Megastore also provides customers a range of ‘local’ products. The hypermarket also has a live bakery and a separate non-vegetarian section. To offer a smart and hassle-free shopping experience to customers, the store has incorporated facilities such as a trained sales team, free car parking space, 24 billing counters, among others.
The launch comes as part of the retailer’s plan to add 0.55 million sq.ft of additional retail space by the end of this fiscal. ABRL already occupies 1.7 million sq.ft of retail space including 0.5 million sq.ft hypermarket area.
The company is planning to launch six hypermarket stores in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and a few tier II cities by the end of this fiscal. Having posted a turnover of Rs.1,430 crore in the last fiscal, ABRL is targetting a turnover of Rs.1,750 crore in the current fiscal.
