Situated in Thane, Mumbai, Vivacity will feature a 14-screen megaplex. Four of the screens will be dedicated to Cinepolis VIP – which will offer a luxurious and ultra-premium cinema experience. The mall and the megaplex are expected to open in 2011.

The fully digital state-of-the-art cinema facility will showcase over 70 shows daily, offering patrons with unprecedented flexibility in the choice of film titles and show timings.

“We look forward to our participation in the Vivacity project, with our flagship first-of-its-kind theatre concept that will establish new standards for cinemas in the country and transform the way we watch movies,” said Deepak Marda, joint managing director, Cinépolis India.

The innovative cinema format will feature some of the highest specifications in theatre design and offer viewers an experience that will elevate their comfort to new highs. The ultra-modern complex will feature wide and expansive lobbies, gourmet food and beverage selections, including the concept of a live kitchen, state-of-the-art auditoriums and the very latest in audio and video technologies including the emerging digital 3-D format screens.

“Our partnership with Cinépolis reiterates Vivacity’s commitment towards bringing not only the best brands, but also world-class entertainment to our customers,” said JP Biswas, VP – Leasing and Marketing, Sheth Developers.

Currently, Cinepolis is operating 2,250-plus screens in 10 countries and serving more than 100 million patrons annually. The company operates its screens under four different brands that span across the ultra-premium to the extreme value segments and has an aggressive India growth strategy with plans to open 500 screens by 2016.
