Kintetsu, Japan, trusts Teradata

Must Read

Teradata Corporation announced that Kintetsu Department Store Co Ltd of Japan has completed the implementation of a Teradata enterprise data warehouse (EDW). The integrated, centralised database system supports the operation of a software-based solution called the Retail Template, developed by Teradata Japan Limited, which manages the relationship with Kintetsu.

The centralised Teradata platform integrates detailed customer and merchandise information previously handled by multiple independent systems, enabling a cross analysis of the information to support more customer-centric, finely-tuned merchandise planning and marketing activity. Prior to the installation of the Teradata system, Kintetsu had multiple disparate databases with no uniform information infrastructure sufficient to make a comprehensive merchandise analysis based on relevant customer needs. The Teradata information system tracks, manages and reports quickly in response to changes in consumer buying behaviour.
