V Mart Retail Ltd has opened its first mega retail outlet in Varanasi, UP, which is spread across 7,500 square feet. The outlet offers women’s wear, kids wear, men’s wear, footwear & luggage section, home furnishing, crockery and plastics goods etc.
Lalit Agrawal, chairman and managing director, V-Mart Retail Ltd says, “V Mart currently operates 57 stores across 43 cities in northern and western regions covering more then four lakh square feet. of retail space with an offering of more than 70,000 products to choose from. It is amongst the fastest growing retail houses, with a chain of medium-sized hypermarket stores with focus on tier II and tier III cities.”
The investment in opening this mega retail outlet in Varanasi is Rs.1.5 crore, confirms Agrawal. V Mart’s other mega retail outlets present in UP include Sultanpur, MuzaffarNagar, Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Meerut, Gonda, Muradabad, Azamgarh, Kanpur, and Shahjahanpur, Sultanpur, Renukut. Its upcoming stores will be in Faizabad and Jaunpur, which will open in April 2010, informs Agrawal.
