Four Fountain Spa adopts franchisee route in Mumbai

The Four Fountains Spa (TFFS) is eyeing the franchisee model to expand its base in Mumbai. The company is a chain of affordable spas and has plans to launch four spas by the end of the year. TFFS has an existing chain of four day spas and one hotel spa in Pune. It has further plans to expand its footprint in Mumbai, Goa, Lonavala, Aurangabad and Manali.

The average size of each spa outlet would be around 1,000 sq.ft and will be launched at Bandra, Malad, Goregaon and Powai region in Mumbai. While the existing spas in Pune are a mix of company owned and franchisee owned spas; for its expansion in Mumbai, it plans to set up all four spas through the franchisee route. While commenting on the franchisee model of business, Sunil Rao, director marketing, TFFS says,“The franchisee owners would be like mini venture-capitalists for us who only need to make the initial investment and rest will be taken care by us. We will guarantee them an assured return every month and any additional revenue shall depend on returns from the individual outlet.”

The spa also sells gift vouchers, candles, aroma diffusers and other spa products such as massage oils and body lotions through its website. TFFS has also started organising spa workshops and it offers mobile spa services in which therapists can be hired on a per day basis to provide short,10 minute therapies like foot reflexology at private parties and conferences.
