Century Ply launches retail outlet for decorative veneers

Century Plyboard (I) Ltd, the market leader in the plywood industry in India launched its first showroom for decorative veneers at Andheri in Mumbai. This 15,000 square feet showroom is a joint venture between Century Plyboard (I) Ltd, the Rs.1001 crore plus global company and Deluxe Interior Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. The plush showroom designed by the Mumbai’s renowned architect Kiran Gala will house decorative veneers in all colours and variety.

The retail outlet is planned to display a wide range of designs and shades in decorative veneer all under one roof inclusive of its unique ‘Boiling Water Resistant’ (BWR) range of decorative veneer from Century Ply.

Along with the retail outlet the company also launched ‘Veneer on Wheels’ (VOW) which is a display of decorative veeners on a mobile unit. As per the concept, the unit along with its sample products will move from one place to another in response to calls from architects or interior designers for showcasing the entire range available and demonstrate the products. According to the company, Century Ply is in the process to repositioning its brand image in this segment and breaking away from the concept of utility products only.

Sanjay Agarwal, joint managing director, Century Ply, said, “We were lacking of an organised retail outlet for decorative veneers for a long time. Customers should have the opportunity of touch and feel of the products before they purchase.” According to him, through this outlet the company plans to provide a single point source for all the needs on decorative veneers. “It will now be easy for them to get the latest trends in international designs and style in decorative veneer under one roof,” informed Agarwal.
