The Shopfit Business

Must Read

Shopfitting has almost replaced the old and conventional system of shopbuilding. This does not mean the new concept retail designs are generic or mass produced with no character or personality. Conversely, the retail designs are well thought of, resulting in multi sensory ambience and great atmospherics.
The recent development is mass customisation of fittings, fixtures and luminaires that are so versatile to complement the varying real estate spaces in India that are seldom retail friendly. The retail design concepts designed developed and consolidated by Indian retail design companies have a certain lead and advantage in effective implementation of store roll out programmes, over most other imported retail design concepts.
The foreign retail designs are foreign and alien to the Indian real estate and retail spaces and, so also the popular Indian buying and value perception behaviour. Of course, the designs from well established brands from the developed nations are worth admiring and experiencing but the effectiveness and relevance to Shopfitting and roll out in India cannot be ignored. Here are some instances of how RD&M customised shopfit ideas for varying retail concepts…
