LG to launch 35 LCD TV models; targets 33 pc market share

Leading consumer durable major LG Electronics India has implemented the global in-plane switching (IPS) technology to its LCD panels and will launch around 35 models by this year end. The feature will be added to its entire LCD line up above 22 inch in the Indian market, according to a company press release.

Amitabh Tiwari, BGMH, home entertainment and B2B, LG India, said, “With IPS technology on offer, we aim to capture around 33 per cent market share of the LCD segment in 2009.”

The company posted a turnover of Rs 107.3 billion in 2008, added the release.
