JIP Fashion and Restaurants Pvt Ltd has entered into a franchise agreement with US-based sandwich restaurant brand Quiznos for opening its outlets in India. As part of the deal, the company plans to roll out outlets from the second quarter of 2009. Further, the company plans to open outlets in malls and targets around 25 outlets by 2012, according to media report.
“Quiznos is a fast food sub sandwich format, which will work better in the express mode. We plan to take this brand to restaurants and multiplexes also,” quoted Sudesh Singh, business head — West India, JIP Fashion and Restaurants in the report.
“JIP will invest around Rs 200 million for opening outlets in the region. The first outlet is expected to come up in Gurgaon,” added Singh.
Initially, the company has obtained franchise rights for the North and the East Indian markets. However, the company eventually aims to acquire pan India franchise rights for the brand.
