Must Read

Hindustan Latex Ltd, a central public sector unit engaged in manufacturing of contraceptives and other healthcare products, has entered the herbal healthcare products segment in partnership with Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala (AVS), a renowned Ayurvedic institution in Kerala, reports The Hindu Business Line.

The company will introduce a range of products in the areas of women healthcare, healthcare generics, symptomatic relief, neutraceutical and personal healthcare in the Indian market and also take them to international markets.

Hindustan Latex had recently launched ‘Lactohil’, an Ayurvedic propriety medicine and a total health tonic, in collaboration with AVS. The medicine is specifically made to address inadequate lactation in women after delivery.

“Inadequate lactation is one therapeutic area where there is less scope for allopathic drugs and the only alternative is Ayurvedic formulations and ‘Lactohil” has shown satisfactory results, quoted M Ayyappan, chairman and managing director, Hindustan Latex.

He further added that Ayurveda had, for centuries, been widely known and accepted for its widespread applications in rejuvenation and therapeutic healing treatment.

By introducing herbal healthcare products through ethical and over-the-counter route, the company is expanding its portfolio to benefit millions in the country and abroad, he said.
