Rosebys enters Karnataka; plans 240 stores by 2009-end

Britain’s renowned specialist textiles and home furnishings retailer, Rosebys London has entered Karnataka market with the launch of four stores in Bengaluru.

Commenting on the development, Nikhil Sen, director, Rosebys London said, “This is part of our national roll out strategy. We have launched four stores in Bengaluru and we have another 25 set for the state in this year.”

The four stores launched are single branded retail stores located in Malleshwaram, Indiranagar, Koramangala and Sarjapur. Additionally, with an investment of Rs 1.5 billion, Rosebys London aims to open around 250 stores through the franchise model across country by October 2009.

“Rosebys London is positioning itself as an affordable luxury brand in the premium market. The company aims for sales of Rs 10,000 square feet of retail space per annum,” added Sen.

Further, the company plans to open 25 stores in Andhra Pradesh beginning January, followed by Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Delhi and Mumbai. Rosebys London is the home retail arm of Gujarat Heavy Industries Chemicals (GHCL).
