PVR has launched its multiplex in Mumbai. The new multiplex comprises seven mainstream digital audis with total capacity of 1,847 seats. Situated at Phoenix Mills Compound, 462, S B Marg, Lower Parel, Mumbai, the multiplex has been named as PVR Phoenix Mill, said the company in a filing to Bombay Stock Exchange.

The new multiplex has 2k digital cinema, compliant with DCI technology, advanced sound and picture quality, and digital technology slated to bridge the demand supply gap (movie prints vis-à-vis number of seats), the company added further in its filing.

With the opening of the multiplex, PVR has made its screen count in Mumbai to 24. However, company’s total screen count in the country has reached to 108 at 26 locations across 14 cities in nine states and one UT.

Meanwhile, the company, in its filing details, has also said that it is in the process of applying to the Mumbai State Government for exemption of entertainment tax.
