In an initiative to reach to the customers kitchen, India’s largest coffee retail chain Café Coffee Day (CCD) plans to sell powder coffee and coffee equipments through Coffee Day Square, their new format stores in which space has been set aside especially for products to take home, as opposed to in-house consumption. The first store of this flagship chain was recently launched in Bengaluru.

Alok Gupta, director, CCD, said, “We are now looking at entering the customer’s home in a big way with several new initiatives. Coffee making equipment is a business waiting to explode.”

“We expect a great momentum in our sales once we launch our e-commerce site,” added Gupta.

CCD currently operates 683 cafés in India, Pakistan and Austria. The company also has an ambitious growth plan of opening 1,000 cafes by 2010 marking its presence across 102 Indian cities and also establishing 50 cafes in 10 foreign countries.
