Samsung cuts prices of LCDs, refrigerators; inks deal with Airtel DTH

With an aim to pass the benefit of the recent excise duty to consumers, electronic durables’ major Samsung has marginally cut down the prices of its liquid crystal display (LCD) televisions by upto Rs 10,000. The company has also announced a price drop of 2 per cent in refrigerators and 1.5 per cent in washing machines, said a top company official.

Additionally, Samsung India has also inked a deal with Airtel direct-to-home (DTH) service for a promotional offer. The offer will provide consumers an Airtel digital set top box with five months subscription and free installation on the purchase of any Samsung panel television till December end.

Announcing the promotional offer, R Zutshi, deputy managing director, Samsung India said, “With the magical combination of Samsung television and Airtel DTH, our customers can enjoy a wide array of channels and programmes to the fullest.”
