Raymond to open 50 stores in smaller cities by FY ‘08

Raymond, country’s leading apparel maker and retailer, is eyeing smaller cities with less than one million population. The apparel major plans to open 50 stores, mostly franchisee, in smaller cities by the end of current financial year, said a top company official.

“We see good business opportunity in smaller cities. We have large assortment of products such as fabrics, readymade garments to cater to the demand of the population there,” said Aniruddha Deshmukh, president, retail and FMCG, Raymond.

Currently, Raymond operates 390 stores out of which 60 stores are owned by the company. These outlets are operational under the brand ‘The Raymond Shop’, which are exclusive shops for company brands including Park Avenue, Colour Plus and others.
