French connection: Belvedere to enter Indian markets

Belvedere Group, a France-based vodka producer, has been learnt to mark their foray into the Indian market. The entry will be through the travel retail channel, according to company sources. Further, the company is also working on a deal with one of India’s independent spirits and wine distribution companies, including Siddharth Banerji promoted Kyndal, said a source.

The world’s second largest vodka manufacturer is also planning to enter into a distribution tie-up for two leading east European vodka brands, Danzka and Sobieski, added sources .

Belvedere through its subsidiaries controls over 20 vodka brands with substantial market shares in the eastern European markets, besides owning whisky trademarks like William Peel and Scottish Leader. Sobieski is the seventh largest selling vodka globally, with several sectoral analysts predicting a worldwide potential for this brand.
