India’s first sports city to intoduce sporting centre retailing

Must Read

Retail in India is no more an option restricted to high streets and shopping malls. After succesful retail formats like platform retailing and airport retailing, the country is now gearing up for yet another innovative concept — sporting centre retailing.

A proposed sports city in Haldia district of West Bengal will be the first one in the country to introduce sporting centre retailing.

Shrishti, the company which is associated in developing the country’s first sports city in Haldia, expects to have shops from all major retail chains like Pantaloons, Shoppers Stop and Westside, and the multiplex chain Fun Cinemas in the mall.

There will be several other shopping areas that will have branded retail stores, small format stores, food courts and restaurants and the project will be completed over the next three years, added the company.
