Adlabs Cinemas, a member of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) and part of the entertainment conglomerate Adlabs Films, which has 181 screens in the country at present, has set for itself a target of around 300 screens by the end of this fiscal.

Speaking to Indiaretailing, a spokesperson for Adlabs cinemas said, “At present, we have 181 screens in 70 properties and to take the number of screens to 300, another 30 to 40 new theatres would be added in this fiscal ”. The expansion will be both through green-field projects and acquisitions with both multiplexes as well as stand alone theatres being targeted.

Though the company did not disclose the investment that the expansion in the current fiscal year will entail, it said that some of the cities in which a new Adlabs Cinema theatre is likely to be built include Chennai, Baroda and New Delhi. Adlabs already has its presence in Gurgaon, Ghaziabad and NOIDA, all part of the larger NCR area and is now seeking to be present in proper Delhi.

The smaller cities where Adlabs is likely to expand include Belgaum in Karnataka, Jhansi and Rampur in U.P, Haldwani in Uttaranchal and Bhatinda in Punjab.
