Odyssey opens Pune’s third store

With the opening of a 16,000 square feet store at Pune’s Kakade Mall, Odyssey, one of India’s premier leisure retailers, has expanded its retail footprint to three outlets in the city. It is also the brand’s 33rd store in the country.

Announcing the launch of the store, Ashwin TS, managing director, Odyssey India Ltd, said, “With the launch of this store, Odyssey has taken the leisure quotient several notches up for the consumers of Pune.”

“This store is part of the company’s expansion plan in the west and we will add at least 20 more stores in Mumbai and Pune across regular and express formats. Our second store in Mumbai will be launched in the second week of September,” he added.

The store stocks over 40,000 book titles on subjects ranging from popular fiction, non-fiction, computing, self-help, health & fitness, business and management, food and drink, travel, apart from coffee table books in various genres of art and architecture, leisure etc.

Explaining the target customer of Odyssey, Ashwin said, “Odyssey is positioned as a neighbourhood leisure store, hence the store stocks a wide range of regional books and music keeping in mind the tastes of the native consumer. The store will also become a gamers’ paradise as it stocks an extensive range of multimedia titles and accessories including PlayStation and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 gaming consoles as part of its offerings.”

Odyssey has also extended its eyewear category ‘The Eyewear Express’ in the store and retails brands including Tommy Hilfiger, Oakley, Manish Arora, Vogue, Rayban, Pepe Jeans, and sunglasses from Disney.
