Madura Garment Exports, a subsidiary of Aditya Birla Nuvo, has planed to invest around Rs 275 crore to roll out a new chain of men’s lifestyle stores under the brand name ‘The Collective’ by October 2008.

‘The Collective’ will retail around 35 international brands, including Armani Collezioni and Henry Pool. The first store will be opened in Bengaluru, followed by New Delhi in December and Mumbai in March or April. Each store will cover an area of around 18,000 to 20,000 square feet.

Announcing this, Vikram Rao, business director – textiles & apparel, Aditya Birla Group, said: “We believe that not many stores let the male consumer choose his own fabric and design. Our final product will come with a European finish.”
