Samsonite appoints new global creative director

Samsonite Corporation, the worldwide leader in lifestyle travel bags, luggage and accessories, has appointed Christopher Pearson as its new global creative director.

Having worked for some of the world’s leading brands including Dunhill, Lanvin, Louis Vuitton, Yves St Laurent and Hermes, Pearson has been tasked to combine his own style with Samsonite’s values of style.

Pearson will be based in London at Samsonite’s global executive offices, heading the global design function. He will design collections under the Samsonite Black Label, Samsonite and American Tourister brands.

Marcello Bottoli, president and CEO, Samsonite, said, “Since 1910, Samsonite has been the worldwide leader in travel bags, proving its place within luxury and lifestyle travel, whilst creating collections that reflect people’s needs. With Pearson’s appointment we further secure this place, uniting our unrivalled history with modern style and design credentials.”

Speaking on his new role, Christopher Pearson said, “I am thrilled to be joining Samsonite. I have always been a great admirer of the company, and am looking forward to being able to marry my experience with the brand’s rich heritage, aesthetic values, and culture.”
