M&S walks out of Taiwan

Must Read

After 14 months of operations in the country, Marks and Spencer has decided to close all its stores in Taiwan.

Three stores will be shut in the next few weeks after they failed to attract enough shoppers. The company is also in the process of liquidating its partnership with local retailer President Chain Store.

The news came within a week of M&S posting a shock profit warning, which sent its share price dropping by 32 per cent.
