Spencer’s Retail Limited, in an attempt to attract more consumers at its stores, has introduced two weeks long Thai festival at its hyper store in Bengaluru.

The event, which focuses on Thai cuisine, culture and tourism, is running simultaneously in Kolkata and Mumbai from June 14 to 25 and from June 19 to 30 in Bengaluru and Gurgaon. The Thai festival is being conducted in association with Tourism Authority of Thailand.

Speaking at the inauguration of the festival in Bengaluru, Spencer’s vice president, operations and business head (South), Atanu Batabyal, said, “We are confident of the success of this activity and plan to conduct at least three more such festivals by the end of this fiscal.”

Spencer’s stores have stocked Thai merchandise across categories including food, cuisine ingredients, home décor and garments. Thailand tourism is another major focus area of the festival. Arrangements have been made for a visual ‘walk through’ of prominent Thai locations.

Following the theme Taste-the-World, Spencer’s will also be conducting Mexican, Polish and Brazilian festivals in the coming months.
