Multiple pricing format from My Dollar Store

My Dollar Store, the uniform price value store from the United States, is planning to expand operations in India as it plans to float a chain of stores having multiple pricing.

“We are planning to launch our operations from February 29. Initially, we will come up with stores at Bengaluru and Hyderabad,” Soumitra Ghatak, chief executive, My Dollar Store, India, told Indiaretailing on the sidelines of the ongoing Marketing & Retail Conclave 2008 in New Delhi.

After Bengaluru and Hyderabad, the company is planning to open stores at other major cities in the country. The size of the stores will be in the range of 15,000-20,000 square feet, and will house a host of brands to be outsourced from the United States.

Besides, My Dollar Store is also planning to enlarge its network by 55 to 60 stores by the end of this year. “We have plans to be present in tier II cities as well,” informed Ghatak.

My Dollar Store is the Indian subsidiary of the US-based Dollar Store International, and has a uniform price range of Rs 99 plus VAT for all products.
