CART for aspiring retailers

Retailers Association of India (RAI) has tied up with 15 business schools in the country to introduce Post-Graduate Programme in Retail Management (PGPRM).

The candidates aspiring entry into this programme will appear for the Common Admission Retail Test (CART). The first test will be conducted on January 27, at over 25 centres including Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Indore, Mumbai, Pune and Kolkata.

Gibson G Vedamani, CEO, RAI, in a statement said: “The objective of the PGPRM programme is to provide students with a high level of knowledge and an understanding of the concepts and processes involved in retailing, and to equip them with operational and analytical skills necessary for a professional career in the retail sector.”

According to BS Nagesh, chairman, RAI, “The course content has been prepared by faculty from the retail sector. They will deliver guest lectures in these, partnering business schools.”

The application forms can be availed from retail stores of RAI member organisations including Shoppers’ Stop, Big Bazaar, Croma, Vishal Mega Mart, Odyssey and Landmark bookstores. They will also be available at Career Launcher Centres and selected branches of Axis Bank.
