To mitigate resultant losses and ensure employment for the staff due to closure of the outlet at Chanakyapuri, Nirula’s is opening two more stores at Bhikaji Cama Place and Race Course in New Delhi.

According to the company’s spokesperson, the employees of the Chanakyapuri store will not have to face the pangs of unemployment as they would be engaged in the other two stores that are coming up.

However, when contacted by Indiaretailing, Samir Kuckreja, CEO & MD, Nirula’s, declined to answer the queries, saying: “I am not answering directly to the media, my PR agency will be helpful and share details.”

Asked if the group will have too see losses due to the closure, an official said: “This will not really hit the business as the new openings at Bhikaji Cama Place and Race Course, which are near Chanakyapuri, will duly compensate.”

The Chanakyapuri outlet was a part of the Chanakya Complex that has been shut down and handed over to the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC).

Moreover, the official informed that the customers would not have to face any difficulty as the home delivery numbers would remain the same.

Earlier, commenting on the closure of the Chanakyapuri store, Kuckreja in a general statement said, “This 27-year-old spot had quietly, steadily and deliciously matured into a famous landmark, lunch destination and college hangout, all rolled into one.”
