To taste a substantial bite of the Indian retail industry pie, Gautier, the French furniture giant is set to step into the Indian retail market, in association with Ebony Retail, the retailing arm of the DS Constructions group, as their Indian partners.
As reported by Indiaretailing earlier, this France-based 160 million euros furniture and home solutions brand was in the process of forging an alliance and had initiated talks with some Indian retailers.
M Dominique Soulard, chairman and managing director of Gautier, stated in an official statement that the escalating lifestyle aspirations of the new Indian combined with the boom in the country’s retail sector has prompted them to establish their presence here.
According to another Indiaretailing report, earlier this month, Ebony Retail had already clubbed themselves with an established foreign brand, but were still to disclose their partner’s name.
Lalit Kumar, the CEO and director of Ebony Retail, had told Indiaretailing that they were looking forward to strengthen their retail business by concentrating on home adornments and had tied up with a foreign company.
The official announcement of the tie-up will be made at a press conference on December 14 at Hotel Oberoi, New Delhi.
