Sole importer and distributor for several international brands like Johnson (the 4th largest fitness equipment manufacturer in the world), Horizon, Vision and Matrix, Proline Fitness is expecting to capture a huge market share in its segment. By March 2008 the company plans to have 62 stores across India, from 54 stores at present; and by 2010, the number is expected to touch 87. Enjoying dominant market share, Proline Fitness achieved a growth rate of over 60 per cent last year alone.

In the western zone, Proline plans to open outlets in Mumbai (Khar, Andheri, Borivili); in the northern zone, in Delhi (Pitampura) and Kanpur; and in the southern zone, in Bangalore (Indiranagar, New BEL, Jaynagar, Koramangala), Chennai (NH Road, T Nagar), Mysore, Thiruvananthapuram, Coimbatore and Pondicherry. A store is scheduled in Colombo, Sri Lanka, as well.

Proline Fitness has a range of fitness equipment for home as well as commercial use. The fitness equipment market, branded and unbranded, is estimated at Rs 300 crore – the home segment accounts for Rs 170 crore and the commercial segment makes up the rest.

Divya Batra, marketing manager, Proline, said, “The commercial segment is growing rapidly with increase in the number of gyms, and apartment complexes and corporates installing gyms on their premises. As people are becoming increasingly conscious of the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle, purchase of fitness equipments in the home segment has also gone up.”
