Dabur gets a rap for Glucose-D

Must Read

After being turned down by a civil court and Punjab & Haryana High Court, Heinz Italia got relief from the Supreme Court, when the apex court passed an interim injunction against Dabur for using its trademark Glucose-D for its drink, which has a striking similarity with Heinz Italia’s Glucon-D.

Glaxo owned the Glucon-D brand till it was passed on to Heinz in 1994. The apex court found Dabur’s product (Glucose-D) had similarities in packaging to the Heinz product (Glucon-D). The court said that Dabur has time and again made changes in their packaging to mislead the consumer, and made it difficult for Heinz to protect their brand.
