Videocon Communication, which manufactures and exports consumer electronics, has been renamed as Trend Electronics, from May 1, 2007. Videocon Group, which owns Videocon Communication, has said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange, that the name change has been approved by the Registrar of Companies, Maharashtra.
Sources said that this step was solely taken to steer clear of any confusion in this company’s name and the parent company’s name, amid the shareholders.
