Thomas Scott announces ambitious India plans

Bang Group of Companies, the parent company of men’s apparel brand Thomas Scott, has announced aggressive retail expansion plans for the 2007-08 financial year. The brand has already rolled out its first flagship store at Camac Street in Kolkata, followed by outlets in Rajkot, Gurgaon, Pune, Mumbai and Bangalore.

Further, Thomas Scott will launch its outlets in Surat, Ahmedabad and Bangalore within next two months. The brand plans to launch around 100 outlets across the country within this year. To cater to a wider audience, the brand is looking at a 60:40 combination of malls and high street properties.

Backed by the retail investment plans, the Rs 65-crore garment division of Bang Group of Companies is targeting a 35- 40-per-cent growth in its annual turnover by this financial year. Of this, 25 per cent is expected from the east and northeast markets. With its other businesses other than garments, Bang Group of Companies has a turnover of Rs 800 crore.
